Dual Registered pupils on short stay placement
Mission Statement
Our Dual Registration Placement enables students to re-engage with education and build a positive relationship with their mainstream school. We provide targeted, individualised support in a nurturing environment, helping students build confidence, develop social and emotional skills, overcome challenges, and when ready, successfully reintegrate into their mainstream school. Students will attend our learning centre for 8 weeks to allow us to explore the barriers to education, before re-integrating back to their mainstream school. Our re-integration officer, Jo, will support students through the placement while they are at Dorchester Learning Centre.

How we deliver this
-
Ongoing Collaboration: We maintain regular contact with the mainstream school to ensure relationships can be maintained and information can be shared.
-
Targeted Interventions: Targeted support helps students explore challenges, rebuild confidence, and re-engage with learning.
-
Trauma-Informed Approach: Using relational methods such as PACE and the Protect–Relate–Regulate–Reflect model, we create a safe, supportive environment for growth.
-
Supported School Visits: Supported visits to the mainstream school help students transition back smoothly and confidently.
-
Individualised Assessments: Observations and assessments identify barriers to learning and inform tailored strategies for success.
